MG Gundam Age-1 Normal - First Look

Admit it, most of you out there are probably not Gundam Age fans. It could be the anime which IMO tailored for the younger generation rather than us the oldies. But to be frank, I enjoyed this series. My son loves it as well. He bought a couple of 1/144s from the series too.

When Bandai announced the release of Master Grade Gundam Age, I thought the response was at best, lukewarm. But somehow, I feel that this new MG could be something altogether. Hence, to generate interest, I organized a Group Build for Gundam Age.

I managed to get one when it was released here and boy, this is a surprise package! In terms of engineering, the shoulder joints were remodeled to give better articulation. THe proportion just right and construction is relatively straightforward. There is no seam lines at all!

DMK Nemesis Prime and Ultra Magnus

A few months ago, I was approached to build a Transformer kit for Singapore's first ever Cybertron Con. We have two Dual Model Kits (DMK) to choose from. Both Leon and I opted for Optimus Prime. These DMKs are hot stuff and much sought after in the market.

Leon decided to do Nemesis Prime version while I do Ultra Magnus. It took me two months to finish this. It is longer than expected but I wasn't working on it everyday. The DMK is much different compared to Bandai Kits. But the details on the internals are fantastic. I had a great time painting them. Since I doing a white colour scheme, I needed to get blue flames decals from Samuel's and thanks to him, I got them within a week!

Gundam Heavyarms - First Look

I went back to Gunpla because of Gundam Wing series. And that was more than 10 years ago. Back then, I had to contend with High Grades only and was wondering why Bandai did not release master grade versions. So when they announce just that, I was ecstatic even though the wait was really long. HA is my favorite for the series as I like heavy weaponry/ armament mechas. I painted three HGs (1/100) for this one!

Metal Gear Suit

Done painting with the OP's internal frame. I still need to hand paint some small details and also dry brushing  on some parts later. I used a variety of metallic and clear colours from Gunze and Gaianotes.

It looks like a waste of time since most of the internal frame will be covered once the armors are attached, Well,  I just like to paint everything on a kit. Haven't really though of a colour scheme as yet. I need to do some brainstorming... urghhh..

New Year, New Storage!

This problem has been bugging me for quite some time. Storage. I ran out of space in my workshop at home. And I have been stacking those boxes in every nook and cranny I can find in the house. But I think I had enough. All it took was one call and I got these gentlemen to bring my solution to me, more racks!!!

The 12 feet long rack is not going to fit into my room. So I had them installed in my living room instead. With my wife's blessings of course! Needless to say, I am a happy boy all over again. More storage translate to more Gundams for me!

Thank to you all brothers!

Happy New Year!

Photobucket

Time really flies. Before I know it, it's already the last day of 2011. Well it is the time for me to review my performance for the whole year. Well, aside from the everyday issues at work, I have a relatively peaceful year.

I was upset when I couldn't complete my O for GBWC 2011. I felt that this guy deserves a better stage than my old dusty display case.  Nevertheless, it turned out much better than I expected.

2012. This year will be the year of the "commission backlog clearance". There are a few interesting projects coming up for me and I can't wait. It's going to be a hectic year for me! But, whose complaining? lol... With my "predicament", I think that it may be time for me to stop competing. Time for the new blood to take over rather than old farts like me "holding the fort" LOL.

Well, I hope you guys totally enjoy yourselves and I wish each and everyone of you out there, Happy New Year, may success follows you wherever you go.

Cheers

Toymaker
