Gundam Exia (MG)

Phew... the MG Exia is finally completed! This time instead of the usual blue, I chose to use purple for this one. I'm having problems with the white balance of the camera thus was not able to capture the purple colour. And it is also the first time I actually gloss coat the kit, I did not really have any practical experience. Well, it was certainly fun doing it and I made some mistakes but it sure feel good that I finally did "glossing"! I realise doing a gloss top coat is challenging and definitely requires more patience and endurance. I need to get a few more kits under my belt before I attempt the Sinanju.
Like what I said previously, this MG Exia really a remarkable kit. There is not much additional details needed and there are quite a few gimmicks as well. THe LED is really a plus to me too.
However, I did have this recurring problem of the plastic been weaken after using Taimiya enamel thinner on it for panel lines. Some cracks surfaced and I really hate those. Looks like I need to use other panel lining methods for a change.

My photography still sucks big time. So there is a urgent need to improve it!

Macross Base

Currently, I am doing some panel lines on the Exia and after that decaling. Should be able to show you all in the next two days. I have decided to use the Macross action base for this one.. Given it a black and fluorscent Red + Pink combo. Pretty striking!

Stay tuned ...

Mighty Muggs!!!

Recently, my wife and I got poisoned by these ""Mighty Muggs". It started off when I brought back the Optimus Prime on Friday night and the two of us got hook on it instantly. We spent much of our time today visiting all those departmental stores and shops comparing prices and looking for rare ones. It seems that we have a long way to go. In the end, got some real good bargains. However, my favourite ones are selling at a premium so got to put it off for awhile... Need to do some reseach....

Optimus Prime

Leon mentioned to me that the Leader Class Optimus Prime is one of the toughest he encountered so far. Not only are the parts small, most of them can't be airbrushed. So more hand painting is required. The flames on the truck is another killer. I have seen others who simply sprayed a top coat over it. Here, he specially scratched a weapon from some gundam parts. What do you say?
