PG Perfect Strike by Toymaker

After two long years, that PG Strike is finally done. It has been a long journey. Full of ups and downs. There were times I almost threw in the towel as I was simply too tired to carry on with this project. Technically, it was a very challenging project. And it was pretty taxing on my mental state as well. But I walked away with valuable experience.

It is not my most "Perfect" Perfect Strike. But it will do for now as I continue to work even harder and seek for that elusive breakthrough. So enjoy this not so perfect "Perfect Strike"....

GP01 [Open Hatch Concept] Perfect Grade

It has been some time since I showcase a fellow modeler's work. Well, the latest work by our Thai counterpart, nuNUnu certainly caught my attention. It was entered in Thailand GBWC 2013 and to my astonishment, was not among the winners. Seriously, this is not even worth a mention!? There are thousand and one questions in my head and I have no answers for them, a different colour scheme perhaps? A more detail maintenance base maybe? To tell you the truth, you can just slip in an acrylic base and I swear this entry is still a top 3 contender. I think Waylander's blogpost sums everything up for me. Sheez...

Strike Gundam [PG] - First Look

I decided to spend some time to work on the PG Strike last evening. No matter how many times I do this, it always look so daunting at first. So many runners and parts! Well, I have been asked to do a PG Strike together with the 3 striker systems namely launcher, sword and Aile Strikers.

As explained earlier, I won't be simply slap on the 1/60 Non Grade Aile Striker parts on the PG Strike and call it a final product. I will probably do a little revamp and redesign the Launcher and Sword striker systems to match the complexity of the PG Strike. I will document my progress here as often as possible.

Getting down to work

With Gunpla Builders World Cup over, it is time to get down to business. I have  three outstanding commissions on hand.

Perfect Grade Strike Gundam

The plan was to create three striker systems in Perfect Grade format. I will be using the non grade 1/60 Striker set for this conversion. This will be a very interesting and  challenging project for me.

Unicorn episode 2 screening

Last Saturday, I went for the Gundam Unicorn episode 2 screening right here in Singapore. I just want re-emphasize what lucky folks we are here. If not for the efforts by Shengtai and Bandai, I don't even know when we can get to watch this. Well the show was fantastic and there are goodie bags for everyone.  To top it off, ST even threw in a lucky draw! Man, are we pampered.

You can read more of the event at Leon Chen's site, Open The Toy

The lucky draw prizes. Blu-ray disc and various model kits from the Unicorn series.

PG GP01 Maintenance Diorama by Leon Ku

Some of you probably seen this a few weeks ago. But I think I should post here just to show you how awesome this is! This PG GP01 with maintenance setup was done by Leon and it is darn impressive. The additional crates, containers structures really make this one stand out. And the orange colour scheme really goes well with the mecha (much to my surprise). Sorry for the lack of pictures. I will post more once I can get a closer look at it....

PG GP01 by Leon Ku

Here is one classic that everyone likes, a Perfect Grade GP01/Fb. For those who has this will know how massive this kit is. With hanger parts and additional amours, it is a challenge to complete this.

Luckily, Leon did this one a few years back. Being the speed demon he is, I have absolutely no doubt he completed this within a month. Aside from details and panel lines, he even added a hanger "wall" to complete the set up.

Enjoy the view guys!

PG MK II (High Mobility Type) By Leon Ku

This one is one of the many comissioned works by Leon Ku. No matter how many times you look at it, a PG Grade gundam ALWAYS look impressive when you are done. With some scratch-building, modifications and a few kitbashed parts, a new variation is born - Gundam MKII (High Mobility Type). Enjoy people!
