Sazabi Version Ka

Phew, I finally finish something before the end of 2014. It has been a rather slow year for me. Been juggling between projects and almost got burnout. One thing I learnt from that episode is that never bite more than you can chew. When you have too many things on your table, you tend to get distracted. And in the end, nothing gets done. 

Anyway, we leave that for another day, back to the Sazabi Ver ka I completed. The MG Sazabi ver Ka is probably the best MG out there. Because you don't have to modify it. Just an OOB build with a nice colour scheme will do. This is how good it is.

MSN-04 Sazabi Ver.Ka - First Look

First of foremost, I want to wish all readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 

And for me, Christmas came early this year. As most of you may know by now, I'm a big fan of the Sazabi. I remember using the old Master Grade version of it for my first few modification/kitbashes, Raven and Lonewolf. Both looked damn crappy right now, LOL. Well, you can imagine I was over the moon when Bandai first announced Sazabi Version Ka. Hey! I waited 13 long years for it!

Gundam Epyon by Leon Ku

It has been quite some time since I blogged about someone's work. Today, I had the opportunity to view this one up close and used my camera phone to take close shots of it. This was one of the entries at GBWC Singapore 2011 and to me, the most underrated work. I do not understand why this entry did not made it to the top 3. I pinned it down to the inadequate lighting and unimpressive display area offered by the organizers. Questioning the Judges' decisions would deemed improper (whatever). Anyway, it's over and I think this work deserved a mention here. Don't think my photography will ever do it justice. But it would be a waste if I don't give it the limelight it so deserves ( I'm considering a proper reshoot in the future).

MG Sinanju Stein - First Look

After 2 Sinanjus and one commission in line, you can see why I wasn't really enthusiastic about Stein. Firstly, what's with "Stein"? Looked up wikipedia and the best I can made sense of is it means "stone" or "rock". Sinanju Rock, Sinanju Stone!? Flintstone? Oh well, never mind...

First Look - Nu Gundam Ver. Ka

This one is probably on everyone's "want" list. And rightfully so. The previous Master Grade version suffered from poor proportion and limited articulation. So this new addition is very much welcomed. Especially when it is produced by the great mecha designer, Hajime Katoki himself.

MG Duel Gundam -First Look

These days, there is hardly anything bad to  say about the newer Master Grades. Quality has improved a lot. Take for example the MG Duel Gundam, I did a quick assembly of the kit without any treatment just to have a feel of it. 

• The redesign is great. 
• Assault Shroud armors integrated nicely. 
• Main articulation joints are pretty taut and secured. 
• Zero seam lines to treat.
• Great proportion (doesn't look as dumb and clumsy as before) 

Ok, maybe there is one problem that surfaced when I started posing it. The front armor skirting attachment tend to "pop" out easily. The same goes to the leg armors if you exert strength at the sides. 

But overall, this is a great kit. You should get this if you are a Seed fan. Waited ten years just for it to be MG-ized. But it is well worth the wait.

Spent the last few hours working on this but only managed to assemble the Duel without the Assault Shroud. This build will be a collaboration with Waylander, who is currently working on the Buster Gundam. It will be a speed build and OOB with alternate colour schemes.

Nu Gundam Ver.Ka (MG)

Since I have some spare time to blog, I choose to talk about the one upcoming release that I am looking forward to. December will see the release of the much anticipated Master Grade Nu Gundam Ver.Ka. I like most of the designs from Hajime Katoki and will definitely get this one. I may even buy two!

Gundam Age-1 Zethus

Most people I met said Age-1 Normal is a boring kit. Well, that is precisely what I want to demonstrate that with a attractive colour scheme and appropriate kit bashing , you still can produce decent work. So when Hobby Art Gallery decided to use MG Gundam Age-1 for their latest group build, I bought my first Age-1 from them. 

I wanted this to be a fast and simple build so that I can resume work on my World Cup entry. Waylander  and me decided  to use the extra weapon packs for the Strike Gundam and integrate them to the Age. We did some simple modifications and gave each Age a pastel colour scheme and you got a attractive combination. 

So I managed to finished this within two weeks and Waylander completed his in a even shorter time span. Well, enough said, I let the pictures do the talking.

Gundam Age-1 Group Build @ 1 May 2012

The first thing I heard when I woke up this morning was my son complaining about rashes. A trip to the doctor revealed that he had chicken pox. Oh well, that was totally unexpected and three hours spent at the hospital was draining and demoralizing. But I immediately perked up the moment I dropped them off at home and headed straight for Hobby Art @ Work. 

You see we are having the Gundam Age-1 Normal Group Build there. And the entries by the local lads were anything but normal. We even have some overseas friends who took part in the build. Very encouraging indeed. 

Rather than doing another post, I will link you to Waylander's coverage of the event. 

But before that, I want to thank all the staff at HAG/HAW for making this come true. And  most importantly, to all the participants who took part in this build. You guys should give yourselves a pat on the back. Congrats to all the winners and I will see you all next build group!
