HG Neo Zeong - First Look (Or sort of)
I have to admit it. When Bandai announced the HG Neo Zeong, I could hardly believe what I heard. For one, it is going to be humongous. And a hefty price tag with it. And so for the past few months, we were treated to lots of pictures of prototypes, previews and news of its impending release.

Project Jesta Deepstriker (abandoned)
This will probably go down as one of my most notable abandoned projects. This Jesta project was initially meant for the Poisonmonkeys Jesta Group. But I pushed it to the Mid Year Gundam Model Kit Contest in June instead. Unfortunately, I could not meet the deadline as I totally messed up my schedule (which is typical of me).
Well, rather than crying over spilled milk, I thought I can share some of my wips and also my thought process with you guys.
The concept is nothing new of course. I was inspired and impressed by Eday's Project GWEN, that I decide to do one myself, amid lesser details. There is no way I can replicate the details or techniques Eday displayed, so I had to stay true to my style.

Jesta (High Mobility) by Waylander
When I saw this Jesta, I knew I had to write a post about it. Because this fellow has come a long way. In a matter of few years, he has established himself as one of the top gunpla modelers here.
And so we organized a Jesta Build Group because we love this fellow. One of the most impressive cannon fodder around! LOL.. And knowing Waylander, his Jesta will be out of the world. And it is.

MG Sinanju Stein - First Look
After 2 Sinanjus and one commission in line, you can see why I wasn't really enthusiastic about Stein. Firstly, what's with "Stein"? Looked up wikipedia and the best I can made sense of is it means "stone" or "rock". Sinanju Rock, Sinanju Stone!? Flintstone? Oh well, never mind...

MG RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee - First Look
I'm kinda tired of all the Unicorns and Sinanjus by now. But I just have to give this a try. The Unicorn FA was impressive but this one is really the icing on the cake. Perhaps it's the freaking awesome claws (Armed Armor) or the gold colour psycho frame, Banshee appeals to me more.
Like the previous versions, construction will be more complex since it can transforms into two modes, Unicorn and Destroy.

MG Full Armor Unicorn Gundam Ver.Ka - First Look
I made good use of the extended holidays to build this one. A whopping 36 runners, it took me approximately 4 hours just to snap this kit. You can say it's a lot of parts to manage.
As expected, nothing is done to improve the range of movement at the knees. There are a few seam lines to work on especially those on the beam rifles and the propellant tanks. The additional weapons is one plus point to me. I could do with a few boxes of FA Unicorn.
Somehow, I felt that the two propellant tanks are too bulky for the Unicorn. It looks like the waist will snap anytime after I attached both to the backpack.

Gunpla Builders World Cup (GBWC) 2011 results
As most of you should know by now, results for GBWC 2011 are out. This year, the Grand Champion is from Malaysia, Mr Jeff Ho! Obviously his entry titled "Kshatriya IV", won the hearts of the Judges. Well, this one gets my vote too! Once again, congrats to him.

Getting down to work
With Gunpla Builders World Cup over, it is time to get down to business. I have three outstanding commissions on hand.
Perfect Grade Strike Gundam
The plan was to create three striker systems in Perfect Grade format. I will be using the non grade 1/60 Striker set for this conversion. This will be a very interesting and challenging project for me.

MG Delta Plus (Red version)
I have being gunning for this one before it's release. So when I got hold of it, all other projects were dropped temporarily to do this. Basically an OOB work, I decided to brush up my metallic finishing. All parts were painted silver with gloss black as base. And I applied different shades of red for various parts.

Delta Plus - Internal frame painted!
Finished painting the internal frame last night. Progress is a bit slow because I am down with flu since Sunday. The medication says "May cause drowsiness, do not operate machinery" lol...
Anyway, I did not prime but applied gloss black on bare plastic. Then I use Gaiacolour 020 Gunmetal on it.
I will work on the rest of the parts with the selection of metallic colours below. Hopefully I can last before the medication kicks in...

Delta Plus (First Look)
Spent the weekend assembling and sanding Delta Plus. I fiddled with it for awhile and so far, I am impressed. The design is slick and details are pretty good too. I especially like the head. Like the other transformable Gundams like Zeta Gundam and Zeta Plus, there is an issue about stability. This is due to the folding mechanism at the hips that allows transformation. Hence, it tends to wobble at that point. Other than that, this kit is a must buy to me.

SD Sinanju - Review
I have just finished snapping the SD Sinanju and thought that a quick review would be nice. To be released in March, I think this will be a hot item and rightly so. With five runners, it look more like a HG release than SD. Although there are more parts, assembly is rather straightforward.

Wings of Trinity Bahamut
After the Trinity build, I have received some queries about how the wings of Bahamut were created. I searched my database for any photos I may have taken and to my dismay, I have not even take one picture of the build process.
Well, I went back to HAG and try dismantling the wings but realised that I have permanently glued the parts when I brought it over to Hong Kong. So I guess I will try to explain in words on how I did the wings. My apologies in advance.
For this build, the biggest challenge was the wings. Simply because I have absolutely no idea how to begin. I sketch a few designs and found none to my liking. It was hard imagining Sinanju with wings. I also need to ensure that design of the wings blend in with the rest of the body. I could have scratch build a pair but reckoned that time is not in my favor (it never does). The next solution is kitbash. I looked for winged Gundams and Destiny Gundam came up naturally.
However, Destiny's wing design is simply too unique and I can't just pluck it out and force it on the Sinanju. I played with the combinations for the next two weeks and finally came up with an acceptable solution.
Pla plates were added to the minor fins (black ones) to lengthen them.
Each consists of two Destinys' wings stacked on top of one another.
One of Sinanju's thruster covers was used to mount on top of the destiny's wing.
Details like pla-plates and panel lines were added for complexity.

That is about all. I don't think it will be of much help to those who may be interested about the wings. My bad...
